Pioneers welcome Warriors
Warren County Pioneer Ethan Stuart is this weeks player to watch during tonights Homecoming matchup with the Riverdale Warriors. Stuart is a senior, is 6-foot-2 and weighs 320 pounds.

Homecoming festivities kick off Friday night as the Warren County High School football team (0-1, 1-3) celebrates Homecoming at Nunley Stadium with a tough matchup against region rival Riverdale Warriors (1-1, 2-3).
The last time the Pioneers faced the Warriors, Riverdale took home a 43-3 victory last year.
The Pioneers, who lost last week, 48-0, versus Smyrna have faced an uphill battle since losing their starting RB Raleigh Woods in game three with a season-ending knee injury. Woods, who started every game before his injury, consistently gained over 100 yards a game for Warren County, which was held to 33 yards rushing last week without Woods.
The Pioneers have to find a way to bolster the offense.
“We have to play better than we did,” said Warren County head coach Tom Moore. “We have to get confident. We hesitated too much on our tackles.”
Riverdale comes into Warren County with some confidence after a home win, 51-13, over Coffee County last week.
While missing Woods, Warren County’s defense will have to contain another steadfast player in Riverdale WR Marqwell Odom who is a big-play threat.
“He scored, gained 80 yards (last week),” said Riverdale head coach Will Kriesky. “This guy can do everything. It will be an upfront matchup this week. It will be tough. Warren County has a big front line.”
Practice found Warren County’s four-year starter on the offensive line Ethan Stuart reflecting on the upcoming matchup with Riverdale. “We’re going to have to protect the quarterback better,” Stuart said. “Also open up some holes better for Noah (Campbell).”
“It’s hard to throw if you can’t run,” coach Moore said. He has confidence in his offensive line this week.
There will be homecoming celebrations tonight with class floats parading around the track and the Homecoming King and Queen crowned at halftime. Game time is 7 p.m.
