What would have been a game-tying 3-pointer to force a third overtime was called off by referees Tuesday night in White County as the Warriors survived a hard-charging Pioneer team.A possible 3-pointer by Pioneer Carlos Villegas was instead ruled a 2-point shot as White County won a double overtime thriller, 72-71.The final play was set up after White County hit two crucial free throws to take a 72-69 lead with 2.8 seconds to play. That’s when Villegas caught an inbound pass from Christian Wilkinson that traveled three-quarters of the court. Villegas immediately turned and hoisted a shot from 3-point range that was right on target as the double-overtime buzzer sounded.
