The Pioneers gave another determined effort Tuesday night in Winchester, but experienced a familiar problem – lack of offensive punch.
Franklin County won 55-45 to stay unbeaten in district play.
Sawyer Seymour led the Pioneers with 15 points, including four 3-pointers. Isaiah Cummings scored 12.
The loss drops Warren County to 7-10 overall and 0-3 in district. The Pioneers are in a little bit of a funk, having lost five straight.
Coach Chris Sullens says he’s not upset with team effort. However, the Pioneers are struggling to score the basketball at this point in the season. Warren County is averaging 45.4 points over the past five games.
The win improves Franklin County to 12-7 and 3-0 in district.
Seymour was hot from 3-point range in the first quarter and the game was tied 11-11 after one. Cummings became aggressive in the second quarter and his 7 points kept the Pioneers within one, 28-27, at halftime.
