Pioneers back to defend district title
Lucas-Rodgers.
Pioneer Lucas Rogers got a hit during his first at-bat versus Wilson Central this past Saturday.
This past Saturday afternoon, the Warren County Pioneer baseball team had a preseason game against Wilson Central with the varsity team taking the field for the first seven innings and the junior varsity finishing the second seven innings.Warren County returns five starters from last year’s district championship team and they are Chayse Frye at 1B, Isaac Golden at CF, Lucas Rogers at 2B, Jett Urtubees at RF, and pitcher Will Sweeton. This preseason game was to try and see where the two teams are as far as hitting and fielding. Warren County would use one pitcher for only two innings each to shake off any cobwebs.Sweeton started the first two innings for the Pioneers and he did not give up any hits but did hit two batters in his two inning outing. Merek McColloch was next up for the Warren County pitching staff.
