Brant Young did everything short of being a one-person field crew on Friday night at Sam Martin Field during the 9-10-year-old district tournament.Young led his Warren County National League team to a 3-1 victory over Cookeville with a strong performance on the mound and at the plate.Young pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five. He backed up his excellent pitching by swinging a hot bat. Young’s 3-for-3 performance, including a run scored and RBI, helped Warren County advance to the tournament semifinals. The only thing cooling Young off was the rain which came in late and postponed the second game.
