It will be a play that haunts the Warren County High School girls soccer team for awhile.The Lady Pioneers were knotted in a 1-1 tie with Cookeville in the regional final as the closing minutes ticked by. The Lady Cavaliers played the ball deep, with Kendal Powell streaking behind the Warren County defense. Most waited for the offsides flag to rise, but it never did.Powell drove in and scored the game-winning goal to help the Lady Cavaliers claim the regional title with a 2-1 victory over the Lady Pioneers.Warren County (16-5) had lost its previous two matches this season with Cookeville in blowout fashion – a 6-1 defeat in the regular season and an 8-0 loss in the District 6-AAA finals played Oct. 17.
