After a crushing loss to Lighthouse in the MTAC semifinals kept the Boyd High School basketball team out of the championship game, the consolation game felt like anything but a consolation for Broncos. The team’s play against Providence Christian Academy proved that Saturday.Boyd fell in the third-place game 60-53 to PCA, a team it defeated twice in MTAC regular season play. Coach Chris Sullens feared there may be a drop-off by his team after an 88-40 shellacking by Lighthouse last Friday in the semifinals.
