The 10-year-old Warren County National League traveling team will be heading to the state tournament for the second-straight year.The National League won the district tournament held at McMinnville Civic Center Sunday when it defeated Cookeville 9-1 in the championship game.Playing on Sunday afternoon at Sam Martin Field, Warren County had no trouble dispatching Cookeville for the second time in three days.The first contest Friday night went Warren County’s way 3-1, but a seven-run fifth inning by the National League Sunday took most of the drama out of the championship game.With the National League clinging to a 2-1 advantage entering the bottom of the fifth, Cookeville came unraveled. Errors, free passes and timely hitting broke the game open.Hunter Adams began the rally by drawing a walk. A Brooks Helton double put two runners in scoring position for Brandon Hennessee.Hennessee skied a pop fly into center field, but the Cookeville outfielder couldn’t come up with the ball.
