Mud run draws 70 participants

Warren County’s only Mud Fun Run was a blast for participants for the third year in a row. The event took place at Smartt Assembly Church on Manchester Highway on May 21.Founder of the race and Carbide CrossFit owner Brandon Eckel provided this recap.“We had 70 curious mud runners show up this year spanning from ages 3 to 57 and a wide range of athletic background to battle on the Carbide CrossFit custom-built obstacle course,” said Eckel.Some people don’t know Eckel is an elite professional obstacle course racer who travels across America and Canada competing on many weekends.Eckel added, “As a result of these competitions, my knowledge of ways to create the course in a fun, but not an extreme or overly challenging manner, grows. Each year the obstacle course gets bigger and better and more people show up.
