Custom Collision split two games Friday. Miguel Garcia sent the winning run home in game one against Mid-TN and scored 1 run against Moose Lodge.
Moose Lodge 1725 took a big first step in winning the postseason tournament Friday by narrowly defeating Custom Collision 13-12 in boys ages 6-8 youth league action in early tournament play.The matchup wasn’t the only 1-run game Friday evening either as Moose Lodge would defeat Edward Jones by 1 run later in the evening. Interestingly, Custom Collision defeated Middle Tennessee Radiology just prior to move on to Moose Lodge by a final score of 13-12.Custom Collision wasted no time getting started as Cason Davis, Jaxon Grissom, Kaden Jones and Casper Cossitt put a crash course of scoring on the agenda as they picked up the early 4-0 lead.Collison’s lead didn’t stand long, just long enough for Moose Lodge to take the plate and send Brady Norris, Daylin Holguin, Adrian Harris, Aaron Tallent and Cason Thompson around to take a 5-4 lead after one.Custom Collision’s Thompson would score again in the second to tie the game, 5-5.In more back-and-forth play, Moose Lodge regained the lead after Norris and Holguin scored again in the bottom of the inning, now 7-5.Both teams were sluggish in the third inning as Collision was held scoreless and Moose Lodge only drove in one, Kaden West, which furthered their advantage to 2 runs, 8-5.Custom Collision started piecing together more offense in the fourth, with Berkley Black, Grissom, Jones and Miguel Garcia tacking on runs to grab a narrow margin, 9-8.Moose Lodge would ping-pong back with 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth, scoring Harris, Tallent, Tyler Woodlee, Thompson and Braylor Jones, regaining the lead 13-8.Now in their last bat, Custom Collision put the pedal to the floor as Davis, Grissom and Jones put up 3 runs before Moose Lodge retired the side to win the ballgame by 1.
