In Men’s League basketball action at the Civic Center on Tuesday night, Hagenmeyer defeated the Dream Team, 68-47, to keep the Dream Team in the bottom of the standings.
With the win, Hagenmeyer is in a tie for third place with Pinnacle, with only a few weeks left in the season.
Hagenmeyer was led by Daniel Pierce, who had 22 points to lead all scorers. Despite the loss, the Dream Team was led by Brandon Gutierrez and Corey Richardson, who both chipped in 12 points.
The game remained close in the first quarter, as both teams traded baskets. Hagenmeyer had the early advantage, 18-15, after one. Hagenmeyer began to pull away late in the second quarter and had a commanding lead, at the half, 32-21, thanks in part to Pierce’s 11 points.
After the half, the Dream Team still didn’t have an answer for Hagenmeyer, as they held their largest lead of the game, 51-34, after three. Hagenmeyer continued its dominance in the fourth, cruising to a 68-47 win. Both teams will be back in action Tuesday, at the Civic Center.
