It’s said that it is better to be lucky than good. The Lady Pioneers were both Friday night in the Midstate Christmas tournament held at Ezell Harding High School.Trailing White House Heritage in the late stages, Warren County was able to win when its opponent turned the ball over in the final seconds and senior Camerie Martin drained a 12-footer with 3.1 seconds left to give the Lady Pioneers a 45-44 victory.Warren County (9-6) trailed by as many as 20 in the first half against White House, but found itself down by only one in the last minute. The comeback attempt looked stalled with 10 seconds to go though when White House grabbed a late rebound and could have forced the Lady Pioneers to foul to try and extend the game.Instead, White House tried to throw an outlet pass and Warren County stepped in front to regain possession.
