The countdown has hit zero. The Warren County High School football team’s long wait for the start of the regular season ends tonight when the Pioneer take the field at Nunley Stadium against the DeKalb County Tigers.Warren County will be looking to build on coach Tommy Johnson’s first season, which ended with a 3-7 record. Though the Pioneers lost 16 seniors who contributed on both sides of the ball, coach Johnson has seen plenty of promise from a young roster.Warren County hopes to take all the hard work from the spring through the summer and take the fight to the Tigers when the lights come on tonight.It marks the fifth straight season the Pioneers will open the year with DeKalb County.
