Boyd Christian School’s Lady Broncos 5-6 grade basketball team (1-4) played host to Dibrell’s Lady Wildcats (3-1) Thursday night, losing the contest 22-13.
It was a slow first quarter for both teams as the Lady Broncos went scoreless and Dibrell’s Gracie Randolph started out with two points from the foul line and a nice rebound-score combination to give the Lady Wildcats a 4-0 lead.
Early scoring from Randolph kicked off a start of scoring by Dibrell’s starters and it was Dibrell 14-2 at halftime.
The Wildcats managed to hold Boyd to 2 points in the third quarter and despite a late-game rally by the Lady Broncos, Dibrell held onto the lead for the win.
Scoring for the Lady Wildcats were Randolph and Sara Davis, both with 6 points, Lily Rains had 4, and Aniston Wood, Cirenia Arellano and Sophie Woodlee all had 2 points.
Hitting the hoop for the Lady Broncos were Bella Stiles with 9 points, and Emma Young and Ava Jones each had 2 points.
