Centertown’s 5-6 grade Lady Warrior basketball team (3-0) remained undefeated with a win Monday night in Bobby Ray’s sparkling renovated gym, with a 24-14 win over the Lady Stars (0-2).
A tough start in first-half action found the Lady Stars down by 12 after the first quarter and 10 at the half, 20-2. Steadfast offense by Jazlyn Ward and Saydie Farmer each with 6 points for Bobby Ray, just wasn’t enough to overcome their earlier deficit.
“We’re improving all the time,” said Bobby Ray Lady Star head coach Phyllis Boren. “We’re getting better all the time.”
The Lady Warriors picked apart the Lady Stars defense. Spreading out the offensive attack were a host of Centertown team members led by Alyssa Mosley with 8 points, Madison Johnson, Krista Chisam and Addison Johnson all had 4 points, and Jaylie Shehane and Emma Miller had two points apiece.
Rounding out Bobby Ray’s total was Sadie Duggin with 2 points.
