Irving Colleges Ella Bond, left, brings down the ball in a game earlier this season as Kristen Turner, right, looks for a pass. Tuesday night, the Lady Tigers took home a tough win, 24-19, over Eastsides Lady Bulldogs.

Eastside ran into foul trouble Tuesday night at Irving College as the Lady Bulldogs lost a close game, 24-19, to the Lady Tigers.
It was anyone’s game going into the fourth with Irving College holding a slim 15-14 lead. With both teams under pressure, it was Lady Tiger Mia Hobbs who became a foul magnet as Eastside sent her to the charity stripe 12 times. Hobbs was clutch with 5 points, while the Lady Bulldogs were held to 5 points total in the fourth.
“We didn’t have a great shooting night,” said Irving College coach Randy Bess. “Defense was tight and we handled the ball well and forced a lot of turnovers. We also made the free throws when we needed to.”
Hobbs and Ella Bond led the offensive scoring for the Lady Tigers with 8 points each. Ashlyn Fults hit for 5 points and Kristen Turner rounded out the total with 3 points.
Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Shelby Smartt with 8 points, Savannah Winfree 5, Emeri Cummings with 4 points and Clara Brackley hit for 2 points.
Eastside played host to Centertown Thursday night, while Irving College traveled to Dibrell.
