Lady Pioneers win eighth straight
Lady Pioneers
The Lady Pioneers won their 8-team bracket Saturday in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational.

The results are the same whether the WCHS girls basketball team is playing in Tennessee or in Florida.

The Lady Pioneers won their eighth straight and improved to 12-2 on the season with a commanding 73-20 win over Wesley Chapel. The win came Wednesday in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational.

The WCHS girls still haven’t lost in December.

Long-range sharpshooter Brienne Kelsey led the Lady Pioneers with 12 points. She was one of nine Warren County players to score. Sable Winfree added 10.

Wesley Chapel (6-8), a Florida school, has been competitive this season and entered the game as winners of four of its last five. But the team was no match for Warren County.

The game was one-sided from the start. The Lady Pioneers jumped out to a 23-1 lead in the first quarter as Kelsey scored all 12 of her points on four 3-pointers.

Warren County dominated inside in the second quarter as Jaden Smartt scored 6 and Sydney Burger added 5.

It was 44-12 at the half.
