The Warren County High School softball team started the season thinking about breaking the school record for wins, making the regionals for the second time in three years and leaving a lasting legacy. The Lady Pioneers ended the season wondering what went wrong as the team was the first team out of the District 6-AAA tournament after a 5-3 loss to White County Saturday night.Warren County (18-20) finished one win shy of the single-season win record, but going two and through in the district tournament was a far cry from how the Lady Pioneers thought the season would end.Warren County lost to Cookeville 6-3 Friday, setting up the win-or-go-home game against White County Saturday.Just two weeks after soundly defeating the Warriorettes 8-1 at home, Warren County fell by two runs as mistakes plagued the Lady Pioneers.Warren County fell into an early hole as White County took advantage of some erratic pitching by senior Gabi Keith. Two walks gave the Warriorettes base runners and a wild pitch let the first run score.White County scored again in the second inning.
