The Lady Pioneers scored their second District 6AAA blowout in as many nights Thursday, pounding Rhea County 11-1 at home.
The victory, coming just a night after stomping Stone Memorial 17-0 on the road, improved the team to 8-6-1 overall and 3-1 in district play.
Hailey Wood, Emily Mikkola, Ashton Whiles, Madison Hollis and Calyn Damon each had two hits, helping the Lady Pioneers roll up 13 in the contest. Sadie Simmons, Grace Rains and Elia Atterson had one hit apiece.
Rhea County scored the game's first run in the top of the first, but the Lady Pioneers responded by rolling off 11 straight.
Mikkola gave her team the lead for good in the second, slapping a RBI single to make it 2-1. Whiles pushed it to 4-1 moments later, knocking a single into left field which allowed Wood and Mikkola to score.
The Lady Pioneers added six runs in the fifth inning before Simmons - the winning pitcher - laced a game-ending single in the sixth. Shelby Roberts was able to score from second to end the contest by run rule.
