Moral victories are not the kind of victories Warren County High School softball coach David Upton is looking for, but it’s exactly what he got when his Lady Pioneers played in the Macon County tournament Saturday.Entering the tournament with just one win this season, the Lady Pioneers extended their losing streak to five games with three more losses of the heart-breaking variety.Warren County lost 7-2 to Portland before dropping one-run games to Friendship Christian and Waubonsie County, Ill. The Lady Pioneers lost 1-0 to Friendship Christian and were eliminated from the tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Illinois team.Falling to 1-12 was a tough pill to swallow for the Lady Pioneers, who had good chances to win each of their last two games. The Lady Pioneers had the bases loaded and no outs in the second inning against Friendship Christian, only to squander the scoring chance.
