Lady Pioneer Saydee Winfree would score nine points in Warren Countys 92-41 win over the Kingwood Lionettes Friday afternoon.

In the second game of the Central Magnet School Christmas tournament Friday night, the Lady Pioneers would find themselves facing the Kingwood Lionettes from Alabama. The Lady Pioneers came into the 6 p.m. game riding a wave of momentum from their 3 p.m. win against Maplewood.
Warren County would control every aspect of the game from the opening tip to the final horn, winning by a final score of 92-41, the largest point total of the year so far for Warren County. The only thing stopping the Lady Pioneers from reaching the 100-point mark was the mercy rule, where the clock does not stop for fouls and turnovers.
Four Lady Pioneers would reach double-digit point totals with the highest scoring Lady Pioneer being Karagan Turner with 14. Brittany Myers and Allison Hitchcock both would score 13 points.
Offense was on the minds of Warren County and the sharp shooting from the previous game carried over to this one.
The full-court pressure defense from the Lady Pioneers was intense. The Lionettes had so much trouble getting the ball to the half-court line, they were unable to run any type of offense. If they were fortunate enough to get the ball down the floor, the shot selection was very poor.
By the end of the first quarter, Warren County was in control, 25-9. Elsa Eckenrod would put up nine points against the Lionettes in the first period to lead the charge for Warren County.
A scary moment for Warren County was when Marlee Smith went up to catch a pass and landed on the defensive player’s foot, causing Smith to roll her ankle. Smith would go to the floor reaching for her shoe and would leave the game only to return later in the second half.
The first half belonged to the Lady Pioneers as Saydee Winfree would hit a basket to end the half leading 50-24 at the break.
Instead of making a second-half charge, Kingwood threw in the towel as Warren County coasted to a comfortable victory.
