The Lady Pioneer volleyball team lost its rematch with the Coffee County Lady Raiders volleyball team Thursday night at Charlie Dalton Gym. The varsity fell in three straight sets, and the JV won its first set, but lost the next one. Coach Erin Blalock commented about the JV match, “Yes, they won the first set and came back from 16-23 deficit to push the second into extras.” The varsity played well in parts, but Coffee County had some powerful hitters who disrupted the flow of the match.
After the match, Coach Blalock commented about the varsity match, “They have an outstanding volleyball team. They have big girls; they cover the net very well. We just didn’t pass well tonight. We did a lot of things well tonight, but passing was not one of them.”
Warren County’s volleyball team has three matches next week, and the district tournament is the following week. Monday the Lady Pioneers host a tri-match with Shelbyville and Riverdale. Tuesday, the Lady Pioneers travel to Crossville to face Cumberland County. Senior night is at home on Thursday against Franklin County.
