After the recent outbreak of winter weather, spring fever was sweeping the area. The Warren County Middle School Lady Pioneers finally took the field Monday afternoon against the neighboring Coffee County Middle School Lady Red Raiders, with the score at the end telling the tale, a 5-0 Lady Pioneer victory.Maddie Cantrell held the Lady Red Raiders scoreless through five innings and earned five strikeouts by the end of the game. The lead-off batter for Coffee County made it around to third base and that is as close as any of the Lady Red Raiders would get to scoring after a strong defensive stand by the Lady Pioneers.After two scoreless innings, the WCMS offense settled in and found a rhythm in the third inning and by the time the inning had ended the Lady Pioneers had driven in three runs giving them a 3-0 lead.
