With a glint in their eyes, Morrison’s Lady Eagles joined the Jingle Bell Classic and played the Grinch, defeating Tracy City’s Lady Eagles, 50-11, Saturday night at Grundy County.The Lady Eagles took control of the game early. Distributing the basketball resulted in eight players posting points for Morrison.Heading into the break with a 22-5 lead, Morrison’s Lady Eagles definitely trumped the Lady Eagles of Tracy City by a far cry more than a beak.Tracy City’s main offensive weapon was Alyssa Parson, who garnered all 11 of the team’s points.Both teams didn’t fare well in free throw statistics with Morrison at 38 percent, or 5-of-13, and Tracy City sitting on 27 percent, 4-of-14.While there were no double-digit scorers on Morrison’s team Saturday, many hands make for light work as the Lady Eagles divided and conquered. Lia Wright scored a game-high 10 points followed closely by Lexie Whipple and Alexis Corey both with 8 points each, Cassie Ross 7, Gabby Monzon 6, Brielee Kelsey 5, Lakelyn Ross 4 and Cierra Baker with 2 points.
