The Eastside Lady Bulldogs defeated the Irving College Lady Tigers 30-16 on Monday night in Irving College.

The win keeps Eastside among the league leaders at 4-1. Irving College drops to 0-4.

It was a low-scoring game in the beginning with Eastside only scoring seven points in the first quarter and Irving College not being able to find the net at all.

Lady Tiger Lilly Cathcart put the team’s first point on the board late in the second quarter by making one of her free throws making the score 7-1. By the halftime, the Lady Tigers managed to get five points and the score at halftime was 15-5.

Multiple fouls in the game lead to many free throw opportunities for both teams. The Lady Tigers scored five more points in the third quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs kept finding the net and scored an additional 11 points that quarter. Both teams continued fighting hard for the ball leading to many jump balls.

The score going into the fourth quarter was 26-10. Irving College never gave up and scored six points in the last quarter, but the Lady Tigers just could not catch up to Eastside. The final score was 30-16.
