Rhiannon Hoover and MacKenzie Pistole have been stars for the Boyd Lady Broncos so long that it’s sometimes hard to remember the duo are still freshmen.Hoover and Pistole provided the perfect inside-out combo Tuesday night – scoring 32 combined points – to lead the Lady Broncos to a 51-27 home victory over Covenant.Boyd (2-5) has long used Hoover and Pistole on its high school team, along with watching both dominate the Warren County elementary league. As eighth-graders a year ago, Hoover and Pistole led the Lady Broncos to a 7-8 grade elementary league championship and were critical parts of an undefeated Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference championship for the high school team. Their talents have been evident for a while and new MTAC rival Covenant got a first-hand look Tuesday night.
