Lady Broncos tame Lionettes

Lady Bronco Brooklyn Bain drives through the defense on her way to the basket in Tuesday nights 57-22 win over Daniel 1 Academy.

Tuesday night in Westwood had the Boyd Lady Broncos versus the Daniel 1 Academy Lionettes. The Lady Broncos would face little opposition as they would out run and outplay the Lionettes by a final score of 72-31.
Rhiannon Hoover would lead the Lady Broncos in scoring with 20 points, followed closely by Morgan Deweese with 17.
It was pretty much all Boyd from the get go as the Lady Broncos jumped out to an early 24-8 lead over the Lionettes. There was not much Daniel 1 could do about the scoring from the Lady Broncos as they could not find defensive answers.
Long-range shooting from Hoover would help kick start the Lady Bronco offense, matched with ball pressure and gathering loose balls to help Boyd score easy baskets in transition. The Lady Broncos would outscore the Lionettes 24-8 in the first quarter and it would not get any better the rest of the way for Daniel 1. Deweese and Hoover would lead the Lady Broncos in the first quarter scoring with a combined total of 16 points.
In the second it was more blanket defense from Boyd that kept the Lionettes covered from one end of the floor to the other. Moving the ball up and down the floor for Daniel 1 was clearly harder for them than they had anticipated.
Quick defense against a slower moving offense is a recipe for disaster if you are the slower offense. At the half, the Lady Broncos would be in complete control, 44- 15.
With the second half under way, the bench players for Boyd would take the reins and continue to lead the offense toward the finish line. Deweese again along with Mackinsie Pistole would put points on the board for the Lady Broncos. The Lionettes would continue to struggle for offense, but they would find it from Skyelar Hibbs as she would be the only player to find her way in close for Daniel 1 in the third quarter. The Lady Broncos would lead 61-21 at the end of the third.
At that point, any hope of a Daniel 1 comeback was out of the question.
