Due to the recent success of a kickball tournament during Smokin’ in McMinnville at the Civic Center, McMinnville Parks and Recreation athletic director Terry Beard is starting a kickball league this fall. The league will begin play Sept. 19 and will be running through October during the same time fall ball is happening. The league will be played on Monday and Thursday nights and each team must have four females on it and can have eight, nine or 10 players to make. All participants must be 16 years and up.An entry fee hasn’t been determined yet, according to Beard, but it will be based on the number of teams which participate.“We will try to play two games a night. The games will be played on the Jim Mansfield Field, so I think that will make things more interesting than when we had the tournament on the Hoover and Millraney Field,” said Beard. The registration deadline to sign up will be Sept. 9.Any interested participants need to contact Beard at 931-473-1212.
