Still working on closing out the regular season in boys 9-11 youth league action Tuesday, Brent’s Computers took on Donald Hillis in a fight to the finish.
It would be team Hillis’ 1-run, first-inning lead which held up throughout the contest that gave them the 7-6 close shave win.
With first bat, Brent’s Computers scored 2 runs with Tyler “T-Bone” Adams and Brody Womack crossing home.
Donald Hillis did one better as Jaxsyn Patterson, Connor Williams and Kyler Robinson scored to add 3 runs to the board for a 3-2 ballgame.
Brent’s wasn’t going to let technicalities get in the way as Adams, Womack and Alex Smith tacked 3 runs to the tally giving the Computer boys a 5-3 lead.
In some back and forth play, Williams, Robinson and Aiden Miller scored 3 in the bottom of the inning, hanging on the early 1-run lead, 6-5.
Holding Brent’s Computers to 0 runs in the top of the third, Seth Cruz added a run for Donald Hillis in the bottom of the inning extending the lead to 7-5.
T-Bone Adams would add 1 run in the fourth as lead-off batter, but Brent’s went down swinging 1-2-3 as Donald Hillis secured the win.
