A local 12-U girls fast-pitch team known as the Hericanes traveled to South Carolina the final week of June for the World Cup Tournament. The Hericanes have placed as high as third in years past as top teams from around the Southeast make their way to the tourney. In the championship game the Hericanes faced off against Team NC and the Hericanes pulled out to an early lead but the first inning was its best inning.
