Just like their namesake, the Her-icanes arrive at the ball park ready to destroy anything in their path. Many Midstate teams and several out-of-state teams were left in the wake this summer. The Her-icanes, a local 10-U fast-pitch softball team, recently completed a successful summer of softball by playing in the WFC World Series in Myrtle Beath, SC. The Her-icanes took on the top competition from all across the U.S. and placed third. While a top-three finish in one of the top tournaments in the country was impressive, it was generally below the standard the team had set for itself this summer. Since starting competition last September, the Her-icanes won five tournaments, finished second five times and were in the top four in almost every tournament.
