When you coach a team to an undefeated championship, what else is there to prove?Boyd Lady Bronco basketball coach Donna Newby asked herself that question and realized there was nothing else left for her to do. So Newby decided to lay down her whistle as she decided to retire after a season where the Lady Broncos swept through the Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference.Newby guided the Lady Broncos to their best season in over a decade as Boyd finished the regular season 15-0 in conference. After winning the regular season outright, the Lady Bronco would go on to claim third place in the MTAC tournament.Coach Newby said all along her team’s goal was to finish the season undefeated in conference play and the Lady Broncos accomplished it in the regular season.
