Gary Steele wins close one over Game Xchange
Game Xchange pitcher Matthew Colangione goes to work on the mound Tuesday as the team took on Gary Steele Karate Studio in the 12-14 age group.

Gary Steele Karate Studio and Game Xchange were in a heated battle on Dottie West Field on Tuesday. Knotted at 4 going into the sixth inning, they were trading hit-for-hit until Gary Steele Karate struck the winning run as Will Wrisner scored in the sixth to clinch the game.
Wrisner scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the ballgame 5-4 in continuing McMinnville Youth boys ages 12-14 action.
Both teams scored 2 runs in the first inning. Austin Conner and Baylor Melton crossed home for Gary Steele and Matthew Colangione and Blake Adams scored for Game Xchange, 2-2.
Gary Steele Karate jumped to the lead in the second as Jathan Bogle boogied around the diamond on a 2-hit inning as Kadin Tackett provided the assistance Bogle needed. The karate team’s defensive stance held Game Xchange to a no-sale in the second for the 3-2 lead.
Both teams neutralized each other again in the third with 1-run apiece. Will Wrisner scored for Gary Steele and Colangione for Game Xchange.
Alex Castaneda tied things up in the fourth as he scored with the help of a big hit by Trad Grizzle and the Xchange’s defense put the Karate boys out 1-2-3 to end the inning, 4-4.
Both teams are scheduled to hit the field again Friday night at McMinnville Civic Center.
