River Watch golf course turned into the personal playground for the Lady Pioneer and Pioneer golf teams Thursday as the District 6-AAA tournament was held in Smithville.The Warren County High School girls golf team captured its second straight district championship, aided by top tournament performer Hannah Powell, while the boys team placed second to earn a trip to the regional tournament. Pioneer senior Clayton Myers matched Powell’s accomplishment by turning in the best round in the boys competition.The Lady Pioneers were looking to repeat at River Watch after the team won the district title at McMinnville Country Club last season. The top performers from last year’s squad were back as Brittany Myers and Saylem Powell guided the Lady Pioneers to the championship, but it was Hannah Powell who stole the show Thursday.The freshman phenom continued her spectacular season by finishing with the lowest round of any female golfer at the event.
