Although they didn’t have a lot of members, the Warren County Middle School golf team did the best with what it had, and several team members placed in the district overall during the tournament at Lake Tansi in Crossville.Lauren Slatton placed second in the district with a 49 and only lost the top spot by three strokes as Hope Homar from Algood shot a 46 for the win. Considering Slatton is at the beginning of her middle school golfing career in fifth grade it sheds more light on her accomplishment and hopes for a head start next season.“Lauren had to overcome early adversity and battle back to take second,” said WCMS golf coach Bryan Matheny. “She really had a good opportunity to win but Hope made the crucial shots when she had to.
