Pioneers return seven starters

Coach Adam Childs wants his Warren County High School baseball team to be the squad other opponents don’t want to play. Having seven starters back from last year’s 13-win team should help the Pioneers’ cause.Warren County has its entire starting infield intact from last year, lefty Ryan Jennings returns on the mound, Lee Carden is back behind the plate and Hunter Mullican returns to anchor the outfield. All those returning starters – including third baseman Jon Reed, shortstop Logan Underhill, second baseman Park Hilliard and first baseman Chayse Frye – are starting their third season under coach Childs and that has helped the team start quicker than the previous two years.“I think we’ve built a good foundation here and it’s starting to show,” said Childs. “Players are coming in knowing what to expect and that has helped with their leadership skills.
