It won't be long before county basketball teams begin battling for bragging rights. The 7-8 grade season is set to tip off next Thursday, Oct. 19.
The 7-8 grade season will start first this year. The move was made to accommodate a county travel team which will be formed this winter. It will be comprised of players selected from the 7-8 grade county schools and is slated to compete against surrounding counties.
The Dibrell boys and Morrison girls enter the season riding a wave of momentum after winning the Morrison Ruritan tournament last week.
Thursday's matchups include Centertown traveling to Irving College, Boyd facing off with Eastside and Morrison playing host to Dibrell. Games begin at 6 p.m.
