It was a battle for second place in Centertown on Friday night in the Coach Pitch League.

Crisp Springs Fireworks was able to get past a hardcharging Dr Pepper squad 26-15.

It was a game of offensive sparks for Crisp Springs Fireworks with Shy Jacobs providing the biggest explosion, a grand slam HR in the third. It was her second HR of the night.

The win improves Crisp Springs Market to 6-2, while Dr Pepper drops just behind at 6-3. Both are chasing unbeaten Anderson Welding at 8-0.

Crisp Springs Market was on the verge of handing Anderson Welding its first loss Thursday night, jumping out to a 13-0 lead. But that’s when the Anderson Welding offense got as hot as a welding torch, leading to a 15-14 comeback win.

These two teams won’t have to think about that game for long. They have a rematch Monday night in what many are saying could be the Game of the Year.

SENIOR LEAGUE

There are no more unbeaten teams in the Centertown Senior League. That’s the story of the week after Prater Realty & Auction suffered its first loss Thursday night.

Ben Lomand Connect pulled the upset over Prater Realty with a 21-15 win. Hard-hitting Dallas Roller was the star for Ben Lomand with a first-inning HR and 4 runs scored for the game.

Prater Realty was up 12-11 after three full innings of play, but it was a 10-run fourth inning that lifted Ben Lomand to the win.

In other action, it was a tight game Friday night between Security Federal and the Bandits.

With the game tied 12-12, the Bandits got the winning hit in the bottom of the fifth when Sam Page blasted an inside-the-park HR to account for a 13-12 win.

Security Federal stayed in the game early thanks to two plays at the plate that were both outs. Security Federal pitcher Jacob Scott was able to cover home plate and record both outs.

For Ben Lomand, Brayden Watson finished with 3 runs scored, including a HR. Caleb Smith scored 2 runs.

For Security Federal, Owen Clark and Kayden Solomon both went 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored.
