The Covenant Academy soccer teams took on WCMS last Friday at Warren County High School.The Covenant High School varsity team played against the WCMS varsity and the Covenant JV team went up against WCMS JV. Both varsity teams played in the first game of the night.“It was a good learning experience for us we were able to try some new formations and play some players at different positions.” said Covenant coach Chris Madewell.Both teams went back-and-forth the whole game but in the end, the WCMS varsity team came out on top, 5-1, in a hard-fought game. The JV teams played in game two.The Lions were able to do a lot of coaching and rotate several players, getting them some experience in the scrimmage. Both teams exchanged goals and battled throughout the game but in the end the Covenant JV prevailed, 4-3, in an exciting matchup.“I am very thankful to coach Matt Jackson for scrimmaging us and giving us a chance to get better as a team,” Madewell added.The Lions were back in action Thursday as they played host to Franklin Christian Academy.
