The roar being heard on Highway 55 is coming from Covenant Academy as the school's sports teams are right in the middle of their seasons.
For the second straight year, the Lady Lions have been participating in volleyball at the middle school and high school levels.
The Lady Lion middle school team currently boasts a 4-1 record that has the team tied for third in the MTAC standings. The Covenant Middle School team's latest victory came at home against Currey Ingram.
The high school girls are currently 2-6, having beaten Currey Ingram at home and Franklin Christian Academy.
Both Lady Lion teams will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Grace Christian.
Boys and girls at Covenant Academy are also getting a chance to run as the school has cross country available to students from kindergarten to high school.
Ava Claire Wrather made a big debut for the Lady Lions when she won her age division Sept. 10. Wrather was running with the K-2 team, which placed second, at Currey Ingram School.
The cross country teams also competed in Brentwood this season.
