Volunteers announce arrivals of 9 freshmen, 1 JUCO transfer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has announced the arrival of nine freshman football players and one junior-college transfer for the spring semester, which will allow them to participate in spring practice.

The newcomers are: defensive linemen Andrew Butcher, Kyle Phillips and Shy Tuttle; quarterbacks Quinten Dormady and Jauan Jennings; defensive back Stephen Griffin; offensive linemen Chance Hall and Jack Jones; running back Alvin Kamara and linebacker Darrin Kirkland. Kamara is a junior-college transfer whose signing was announced last month.

Kamara is rated as a five-star prospect by Rivals and Scout and as a four-star recruit by 247Sports and ESPN. Phillips and Tuttle are rated as five-star prospects by 247Sports and as four-star recruits by the other major services. Butcher, Dormady, Jennings, Jones and Kirkland are all rated as four-star recruits by multiple services.
