MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have given up on their first-round draft pick from 2014, waiving guard Jordan Adams in their moves to trim their roster for the regular season.
The Grizzlies announced Monday they also waived center Matt Costello.
The 6-foot-5, 209-pound Adams played in just 32 games over two seasons with the Grizzlies because of injuries, and he averaged 3.2 points and 8.2 minutes in those games. Adams had knee surgery this summer.Memphis took him with the 22nd pick overall out of UCLA in 2014.
The Grizzlies signed Costello on Oct. 20 after he played two games with Atlanta this preseason. He never played with Memphis.
The moves mean rookie forward Troy Williams will be on the opening day roster along with guard Troy Daniels and forward James Ennis.
