NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan and quarterback Zach Mettenberger may be active Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, even though both rookies did little in practice all week.
Both rookies are questionable, with Lewan having missed four consecutive games with a high left ankle sprain and Mettenberger out two games with a sprained right shoulder. With 15 players on injured reserve, the Titanshave kept both rookies working to be ready to play.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Friday they have had available spots on game days the past few weeks because of the team's health, and whether Lewan and Mettenberger are active depends on what Tennessee needs to do Sunday.
But Whisenhunt says there is a possibility Mettenberger might dress as a third quarterback and even take a few snaps.
