Civic Center to hold district tournament

A district champion will be crowned this weekend at McMinnville Civic Center.
Edley Newman Field will be the destination for five teams from Middle Tennessee looking to win the District 14 Tournament, including a local group of All-Stars.
The 14-year-old Warren County All-Stars will join Lebanon, Cookeville, Livingston and Fentress County in pursuit of a district title and state-tournament berth.
Games will be played at Edley Newman Field, which held all Babe Ruth league games this spring.
The first games will be tomorrow night. Cookeville and Lebanon kick off the tournament at 6 p.m. Warren County is set to play Fentress County at 8 p.m.
The 14-year-old Warren County All-Stars were selected following the 13-15 boys Babe Ruth season.
The team includes Matt Savage, Daniel McGee, A.D. Majors, Ridge Brewer, Dylan Bond, Adrian Lusk, Jake Pennington, Dustyn Kilgore, Noah Kuykendall and Thomas Cantrell. The Warren County All-Stars are coached by Jeff McGee and Lynn Mullican.
With a win tomorrow, the Warren County All-Stars would advance to the winner’s bracket finals, which are set to be played at noon Saturday. With a loss, Warren County would return to action Friday night at 8 p.m. in an elimination game.
The tournament finals are set to start at 4 p.m. Sunday.
