With the women’s Church League season winding down, every victory helps as tournament seeding could play a vital role in deciding a champion.Centertown and Covenant each picked up big wins Thursday with just one week remaining in the regular season. Centertown crushed First Baptist 15-2, while Covenant beat Locust Street 17-9.A 10-run third inning helped Centertown make easy work of First Baptist Thursday night.Centertown went into the third leading 5-2, but left with a double-digit advantage and never looked back.Sarah Roller began the third with her first of two singles in the third inning. Following a walk and single by Morgan Lorance, Jenna Sullens blasted a bases-loaded triple to start the rout.Emily Lopez added a two-run double later in the inning and by the time Roller and Ashley Parker scored on a two-run single by Lorance, Centertown led by 13.Needing runs to keep the game going, First Baptist failed to get a hit in the final two innings and lost by run rule.Roller, Lopez and Lorance led Centertown with three hits apiece.
