The 2012 Warren County High School baseball team resonated with the community unlike any team since the 1992 state-championship baseball team. In the first year under coach Adam Childs, the Pioneers won 21 games and advanced to the sectionals, conjuring up memories of that miraculous run 20 years ago.Though a loss to Riverdale stopped Warren County from making the state tournament, the season gave many hope the program is returning to its early 1990s form when the Pioneers were a constant threat to make the state tournament. With that in mind, coach Childs is currently working on finalizing his 2013 roster. Despite losing 12 seniors, coach Childs doesn’t think the expectations will change around his program.“We definitely want to keep building the program in the right direction,” said Childs.
