Football fundamentals instilled at early age

Coach Bert Sinks works with youth league football players ages 10-12 Thursday getting ready for the upcoming season.
Beginning Aug. 26, you can find the future of Warren County football on the gridiron at Bobby Ray Elementary.There you’ll find youth league football games, three teams, with players ranging from ages 5-12 years of age. The teams are broken down with coach Bert Sinks instructing the 10-12 age group, coach Justin Grissom, ages 8-9, and coach Steve Weeter, ages 5-7.“Sportsmanship and character,” said Sinks, about which fundamentals they teach first. “We treat these kids like they’re part of our family.”In addition to the character building, the coaching staff addresses basics from physical fitness to how to run basic offensive and defensive plays.
