Edward Jones/Leann Cordell boys 9-11 youth league team went back into action after a week’s hiatus Tuesday a bit rusty and Brent’s Computers took the victory 13-4.There was no quit in the Edward Jones team as they tried to recover from an early deficit and a huge second inning where all but one of Brent’s Computers player scored.Brent’s took an early lead as Trace Taylor, Casen Youngblood, Hayven Jones, Lukas Bernhardt and Alex Smith all scored in the first to lead 5-0.Brent’s held Edward Jones in the first to no runs, coming back with scoring sensation in the second inning as Tyler “T-Bone” Adams, Jaython Baker, Youngblood, Jones, Bernhardt, Smith, William Markwood and Amaya Martin tacked on 8 runs total for a 13-0 score.Edward Jones refused to buckle under the pressure as Lucas Eller added a run in the second to get on the board, 13-1.Holding Brent’s to its already sizeable lead, Edward Jones had its best inning yet in the fourth, scoring three runs as Barker Higgins, Eller and Conner Williams made it 13-4 before Brent’s retired the side.With season play ending this week with makeup games, the double-elimination tournament begins Monday, July 17, at 5:30 p.m. on Sam Martin Field.
