Bratcher wins WCMS 5K race

Matt Bratcher rounds the final corner and dashes for the finish line to win the WCMS 5K on Saturday with a time of 20:07. The race was a fundraiser for the WCMS cross country team.
Matt Bratcher showed a lightning-fast kick down the back stretch of Nunley Stadium to distance himself from the pack and win the WCMS 5K on Saturday.Bratcher finished with a winning time of 20:07. Paxton Smith (21:58) grabbed second place, and Blaine Wilcher (22:06) finished third.“I haven’t run on gravel and wet grass since high school. It makes a big difference,” said Bratcher, who said his 5K time is typically between 18 and 20 minutes.The race featured 52 runners who made their way around the WCMS campus.
