If the Boyd Lady Broncos ever get tired of playing at J.K. Stanley Gymnasium, the team can always move to its second home in Morrison. Boyd claimed the championship Saturday night by defeating the Dibrell Lady Wildcats 42-16.Boyd shocked the field of six teams last year to claim the championship, but the Lady Broncos looked comfortable playing at Morrison during their second run to the tournament title. With a group of eighth-graders, led by point guard Rhiannon Hoover and posts Anna Bain and MacKenzie Pistole, Boyd dominated its three games on the way to a championship. The Lady Broncos beat Morrison 41-15 Thursday, then followed with a 46-15 win over Eastside to move into the championship game.Awaiting the Lady Broncos was the Dibrell Lady Wildcats, who had a first-round bye and beat Irving College 24-23 in the semifinals.Dibrell tried its best to slow down the Lady Broncos, but Pistole and Hoover each scored seven points in the opening period to give Boyd a 14-6 advantage.Bain began asserting her will in the second quarter for Boyd.
